How we test gear
Our main goal is to help coffee enthusiasts make informed decisions and prevent them from wasting money on gear that doesn't fit their needs. To do this, we classify our technical recommendations into three testing tiers:
Rigorously tested
Products we have purchased, used extensively in our own daily workflow, and measured for parameters like retention, thermal consistency, or durability.
Researched
Equipment we haven't been able to physically test long-term, but for which we have consolidated data from technical manuals, specialized forums (like Home-Barista or Reddit), and real community feedback.
Based on specs
Options we include strictly as a market reference point based on the manufacturer's spec sheet to round out a specific price category.

Independence & Affiliation
